The state of Sidi Bel Abbès was created recently, until the human presence in the region is rooted in antiquity, which can reach prehistoric times. As the remains and relics of the Tesala region show, thus, like the rest of the Maghreb, the first inhabitants of the region were Berber tribes and had gathered around the shores of Al-Makara, so that i showed great interest in developing cereal cultivation and horticulture on the fertile lands along the valley
